Looks like I'll be in Barry's seat, gotta get Angela Crain (from the post above) on the phone to swap it out.

This just in from Choctaw: "hell you aint gotta take no class, I can teach anyone how to weld". I said, for $125? I don't think so!

SWEET!

class will definitely will pay for itself!
Only "problem" is the rash of tool buying that will follow :bounce:.

I bet Josh will sell that Hobart welder that he won a few years ago at the Crawl. Yall hit him up at the BBQ. He needs a winch!

... and metal is NOT cheap!

Wish I could stay in but I'm heading back to NM to be with mom. Besides my Kung Fu class is on those nights-------I majorly cross scheduled myself on that one.

Young grasshopper you must learn to do both. One swift chop at right angle will scare metal together. It referred to as MIG Fu. Not to be confusious with Wushu pork or Swine flu. Much focus!

So for all around "hobby" welding or general automotive work, what would be better to learn? Stick or MIG/TIG? I rarely see anyone using sticks anymore, but that being said, I'm also rarely around welding anymore (unless I'm getting an exhaust installed) I've always wanted to learn how to weld, and it'd be awfully handy around the warehouse, so what would the group's recommendation be?

Definitely MIG. Take the class with the rest of the guys. You'll really like it.

Mig hands down. i started with stick and almost gave it up. if you can stick weld you will be awesome with MIG.

I called a week or so ago, and the woman put me on the waiting list due to the class being full..........come on, one of you guys go ahead and drop out so i can get in on it! ;) j/k, of course. It looks like they might have another class later in the summer.....

A friend of mine that is scheduled to take this class is not taking it. So there will be an opening.

If that doesnt work out you can have my spot.

I just talked with Angela Crain (1:30 Monday 5/18), and she said no one had canceled. I'm certainly not trying to take anyone's spot, but if someone DOES decide to cancel, I'm available to take their space. Thanks.

i just left word with her. i am canceling my spot. i had to use my money to take my insurance license exam... which i passed... so all you guys taking the welding class, call me first and take out a life insurance policy, you know... just in case. lol

after all, lenny IS gonna be in that class! :)

dnp, i told her in the message i left her you would be calling. you may want to call back and tell her you are the one i spoke of.
