weld or not to weld

Im in the process of repainting my 40, Im currently repairing corrosion and would like to know if I should weld up these cracks. The reason I ask is because the cracks are on both sides of the vehicle, so Im not sure if they are designed to relieve stress.

Weld em. Not supposed to be there. I have a similar issue on my 69 doors.

if you don't weld them, drill a small hole at the end of the crack. That will help keep the crack from growing.

Thanks for the responce, I took the doors apart and welded them up. The inside support bracket was broken which caused the outer door cracks.

You should do both - drill and weld. Weld a small hole just at the end of the crack such that it 'cuts off' the crack from getting longer, then weld the crack up, then fix whatever caused the crack if you can.

What would cause the A-piller or door frame to crack? After drilling the small hole, should I then weld it up?
