My water pump started screaming like a stuck pig last night. I thought it might be the cold weather at first, but was a little worse today.

So... Is there a "better" water pump available for the 22RE; Hi-Flow, Hi-Performance, Turbo Model, Etc... or just the stock replacement?

stock water pump is fine...until the bearing goes out

just a thought, there is a hole on the underside of the snout that is there to aid cooling....maybe if your motor is a bit grimy it got plugged and quickened the end of your bearing, but if your pic is your engine, then probably not.

I have a 93 PU that was squealing really bad and it turned out that the idlers were just about ready to break cause they were probably at 236K miles and i changed the timing belt and all that stuff, now i can slip up on ya!! hehe!! Idlers were Toast, do not know if a chain drive engine has anything like that? i do not think so?

just make sure you buy the new instead of reman. the remans always have the problems

thats right

if you use inferior green coolant, the seal corrodes and causes bearing failure.

with the toyota red coolant, there are additives to help prolong the enevitable
