Why would you need to grind that?? Got $4?:

I think you'll still need to use an adapter fitting jobie on there, however - the 3B seems to have much deeper "holes" than your 2H... so your plan is a good one, probably.

I went to Napa, they said go to Sears, I went there, they didn't know s#@&! Only here do I get the inside scoop. I'll order it even if I use the sleeve.

The later 2H with the super glow system has a water temperature sensor in that plug.
Use a maf torch/ oxy, etc or similar to heat it up as it will be held tight by rust maybe some bolt off or penetrating oil.
Trusty rattle gun will shift it for sure.
If I get a chance later today I will pull my sensor out and tell you how much depth there is.

Maybe measure it just to make sure 9/16" will do. Thats what my 3B took, but ya never know...

From the pictures you can see the limit of the protrusion of the sensor as the intake port protrudes below the bottom of the sensor restricting length.
Were the temp readings accurate even though the probe was only partially in the coolant flow? I only ask because another member thought that would create a misreading.

My 2H has that water temp sensor in that hole you mention. I also mentioned that waaay back when I first started this thread!!

I am not with you, the sensor is fully in the water in the head. The probe part is app 28 to 30 mm [1 1/8" to 1 1/4''] long and all of it is in the water. This sensor reads the temperature for the[ super glow] glowplug system.
If you are worried about accuracy connect your mechanical gauge up and put the end into hot water then fully submerge it then tell us the difference,

The reason I don't put it in the original temp sensor location is because I need an adapter to go from whatever thread/pitch the hole is to whatever the thread/pitch my Auto Meter electric water temp sensor is.
This goes again back to my original (first) post in this thread.....!!
I have no idea by looking at the hole what size adapter with what threading I need for an adapter. That's why I asked if anyone knew what size/thread the original hole is.....

I want both readings with the new turbo. (temps are are obviously important), I'm not completely sure the factory reading is correct. I've seen Toyo factory gauges go berserk; fuel, cooling , elec. all go up full then down complete low, then normal. Mechanical are less prone to the toyo. elec. gauge failure.

Otherwise take your gauge and truck and go to a hydraulic hose fitting/repair shop and ask or any shop that stocks pipe fittings.
Ask where you bought the gauge from?
By the way my gauge reads by the time I get to the top of my street, but I live in the tropics LOL. Goodluck.

About the same south as Mexico City is north of the Equator around 20 degrees longitude. LOL It is winter here 28celcius.

Temps are running at 190 F with the A/C running in 93 + outside temps here in florida. Now if I could get the A/C to actually cool the truck.
