warranty is worthless

its good to see some people saying posititive thingsabout thierFJ........sort of a breath of fresh air..........i have read lots of other forums/positings that talk about busted windshields, axles exploding on them, engine bays ripping apart, etc. that I was starting to wonder if I had purchased the only trouble free FJ in the world......good to see others that are having the same trouble free experiance I am )

no doubt...i'm sure I was reading and talking with some client up at work that has no idea how to invest his money. half paying attention to him and half paying attention to reading!!

May have found something though. Hasn't happened yet, but did get the 20% off coupon for the TRD CAI. Highlighted in bold prints it states, from the dealership, this mod is not covered by warranty? Haven't installed it yet, but if it did break....why wouldn't it be covered? its on the TRD FJ right?

Not exactly sure how it could break, but its just like when the dealer adds aftermaket wheels, they are not covered by the warranty. As long as it doesnt state that it will void the warranty I would not worry about it. I run Royal purple oil and it states to change it at the factory suggested intervals until the warranty is out then go to 12k with just a filter change at 6k. They dont want the added liability

Yeah, thats the problem!! A giant sticker comes on top of the box that says "for racing and offroad use only, not warrantable" I guess I should have been more specific, I'm not worried about the CAI breaking...just breaking other stuff like the MAF. I just picked it up, and the GM of the stealership was outside waiting on me. Said he had seen me a few times and wanted to make sure I got the 20% off. He told me that if I installed and had any problems because of the CAI to bring it to him and they would cover it. Thats a breath of fresh air. Also told me call him directly for more mods. We wheel with some of the same people from my club. Think I found a place to buy mods at cost!!

I was toying around with changing oil type cause of the abuse i put the engine through, your happy with using that I assume? What about spark plugs? you upgraded that yet?

I took your advise, cause I needed to change my fluids. The dealership sells the Royal Purple, and recommended it for the way I drive (they have seen it). Its all 30% off with a TLCA membership card. I did the rear diff and man trans changed yesterday. gonna hit the transfer and front diff tomorrow. The adviser said he may try the plugs that come with the supercharger (90k)...but my parts guy said he would stick with the reg plugs cause he says I NEED to change them out every 30k miles. I went ahead and grabbed those as well. Hopefully I can get it all done tomorrow.
