Don’t know much about these. Took off a 1970 Toyota. Works great! Looking to get 650obo

Not trying to put a damper on your selling, but you would be lucky to get $250 for one here my area

Not sure what it is worth just seen a few on eBay

They're not worth much, unless someone just has to have one for a period-correct pre-1974 restoration. The later evolution of this winch, in the form of the Warn 8274 is much more desirable and valuable because it powers out and in, has a better braking system, and has a more powerful motor (and hence more pulling power).

I have a restored one that was original to 1969 and a stranger offered me 1100.00 for it. I asked why and he was looking for one for a Bronco. He had a concourse resto going on. I think your price is probably ok. Put it on ebay and see where it goes to.

I can tell you that this is likely an early '60s model. It's still saying it's a 6,000; later ones were labeled at 8,000 lbs. of capacity.

Belleview MFG underrated their winches, When Warn purchased the company, they didn't change anything and upped the winch rating to 8000 lbs after doing some testing. So it may not be a 8274- because it's their daddy! Mine holds 150' of cable and it's fast. I too have not seen many sell for more than a few hundred, but all bearings, motors are still avail.

The original 8274 motor was only 2.something hp; I've never seen any hp spec for the Belleview. But the Warn #68608 6 hp motor is a bolt-in replacement. I don't know what the capacity is with more than double the hp, but it's a lot! I have made some huge pulls with mine - domestic 3/4-ton diesel pickup with a big gooseneck trailer attached, out of a ditch and up a steep hill. If I can keep my 40 anchored, I have not found anything yet that my 8274 could not pull.

This all confuses me , I’ve seen Belleview 8000’s made in Seattle with the brass placards .. I have one that says it’s a 6000 and is made in Portland . I bought it from a FJ40 owner out of Boise last month . My serial number ends in 68 and the one posted above in this thread last two digits are 67 . I’m thinking those possibly are the production years ? Or maybe my numbers represent 4-15-1962 winch #68 made that month ? I don’t have any stamps on the housing to use like I have seen on others pre 8274’s .

I also have a 8274 made in 1976 that works flawless on my 1976 FJ40 . I believe it came with it when it was new .
