Mr Snrub, it just takes a lot of money or booze - or both. I guess your friend didn't check out the club initiation rules first. :D:D:D

All jokin aside, I am actually not a member. The guys here have been good enough to let me hang around, attend meetings and even win a nice set of tools. It all started with me wanted to go and do some wheeling with guys who had a similar type of vehicle. Bill was kind enough to invite me to a meeting and I report to the club on developments in IVOAC. Besides that, I have been active fighting TC's plans to change the 15 year rule. When I got involved, the only real activity was from the JDM Alliance here. From Alliance section here on IH8MUD and the leadership and vision of Crushers, IVOAC was formed. Check it out.

As to your point about the Suzuki, I don't think you could seriously think to compare a stock Safari/Patrol to a stock Suzuki. IMO, there are only two great mass produced 4X4s in the world and they are Land Cruisers and the Safari/Patrols. Which one is the best will always be a point of debate.:grinpimp: But they both are used in their stock form in some of the most demanding conditions in the world. BTW, I do have a Toy which takes me a lot of wrenching time to keep on the road. Time I could better spend playing with my Safari. All three of the Toy cars I have owned (Celica, Corola and Tercel) have been less than dependable. I am done with their cars unless they start selling diesels here. Actually, I think they had both a Tercel and Corola diesel 4x4 wagons in Japan. Hmmm, something to think about ...

Cheers, John
