Helping a friend with the dreaded starter system gremlins. Tracked it down to a bad shared ground (triangle EE) between the starter relay (left inner fender) and the IG-1 relay. Would appreciate some images or description of where this shared ground bolts to the engine so i know which wire to test. Thanks in advance.

Are we talking about 1HD T in an 80 series? AFAIK ,they are the same as all other Toyota diesels, there is only a single earth strap on the LH side of the engine from the battery. Its hard to miss.
There is also a strap on the chassis from the starter?
A long time since I have dealt with them so I may be wrong

Thanks. Will check that tonight. These starter circuits (VX) sure have alot to check. More than my Mitsubishi Diesel!
