Howdy Cottonland Cruisers! I drove my 76 Pig to Jackson for a couple of weeks of training, and a couple of minor oil leaks got worse, and I fear a blown head gasket from the frothy foam stuck to the top of my oil fill cap. Can anyone point me at a Cruiser friendly shop? I'm staying off of Watkins at the Entergy training building, but will go as far as I need to for the right mechanic. Thanks in advance.
ALSO, in case you are interested, the dates for this years Razorback Ramble at Hot Springs have been set. The dates for the Ramble are June 1-3.

Talk to Willie at Graves they are good people. If I had serious engine trouble thats where my 40 would go.
For serious work thats where we recommend our customers take their Toyota's.
Sorry your having trouble.

Yeah, Graves & Stoddard is the place. Stay away from the dealers unless you have plenty of $. Let us know if you need a tow. We'll throw her on a trailer. Also, give us a holler and well meet you somewhere for a cold one. My cell is 601-954-9558. Let us know if you need help.

Thanks for the help. Let me figure out how much homework I have, and I'll figure out when I can try to meet up. I don't think I'll need a tow, but will holler if I do.

Well, I got over to Graves, and they did not want to work on my rig due to her age. Kinda sounds like age discrimination! She not running hot, and the oil leaks seems stable. What do you guys think about me driving her the 400 miles home next week?

Thats a bunch of crap.........to old a vehicle.:censor:

 What about gettin a can of degreaser & spraying it off to diag. where the leak is coming from.....

Unless its just pouring, buy a jug of oil & head home next week......in between just keep a eye on the oil level.;)

Better to try & fix where you have access to tools or access to another vehicle than possibly gettin stranded in MS with no other choices.

Good luck.................I would offer help but were tryin to find a home in TN currently:grinpimp:

Yeah you don't want to get stranded here...
Thats what happened to Clutchee, it took him 4 years but he's finally gettin out!!:grinpimp:

Sorry Graves persona non grata you.

Is it getting oil in the anti freeze? Is there water in the oil? If it's just a leak then maybe we can fix it this weekend. Determine where the oil is coming from and we might be able to throw a wrench at it.

No oil in the antifreeze, but a mocha colored gunk in the oil, so looks like water getting into oil. Oil on dipstick looks good, leak is not that bad, so I'll probably just drive her home Friday, or catch a ride and save driving the pig home for next week.

I finish training by 4:30, and can get on the road by 5:00 today, tomorrow or Thursday if you all want to get to gether and tell some landcruiser lies. I'm near Watkins and I-220, and would need directions to get anywhere. --Mike

I the oil on the dipstick looks good then I wouldn't think you have a blown head gasket. I this the first time you have driven it this far? Clean the oil cap up and keep checking it. The oil in the crank case should look funny if the H/G is the problem.
