I just got a 84 FJ60 with the 2F motor and the carb needs to be rebuilt. What vendor should I use to get a rebuild kit.This is just the first of many issues I need to solve on this LC.

I already did the research on this for Ray, to try to get him to do it.
There is a member here on mud who is supposed to be a 2f carb guru, and will rebuild to order. for some reason I feel like his name is cruiser dan, but I really dont remeber. I set the whole thing up and all ray had to do was ship it

Jim chenowith is the guy. I can look for a carb kit tomorrow, but I'm not too hopeful. I can rebuild a carb as good as the next guy, and I would send an Aisian to Jim. He'll ask you your set up and you get a bolt up carb back.
OTOH Trollhole claims to be selling brand new ones for $225.

Seriously, the 2F Aisin carb is a piece of cake to rebuild if you have a legible diagram. Just pick up a kit from Specter Off Road and spent a Saturday afternoon doing it. If you could get the carb and kit up to Northbrook somehow I'd even do it for you. (It's pathetic how much I miss my 60 and the interaction with one somehow)

I could drop that carb off to you Rob and have you rebuild the one I have for him. I would definitely save him a trip from the boondocks. Unless of course you want to do a road trip with me out there.....
Give up the Buddy Holly/Bug Killing Cesna and get another 60. You know you really want to....

Carquest has the rebuild kit in stock at the Chicago warehouse. (actually in Romeoville) Should be less than $40. They have one of the two floats listed as well. you'll need the carb number to find out which float you need, if you want to replace the float. One is about $20. One is about $10
Well, as long as John picks up the parts, I'm game for heading out and picking up the carb and all.

I'm going to get the number and call carquest. If you want I can pick you up at Dupage airport its only 3 miles from my place Chitown and if you want you can look at used Harleys at my place

If you go in the morning, by 10 ish, you can usually get it by the afternoon. Carquest is the bomb when it come to LC parts.
Rob, I have to drop off that bib at Bill's house to get it blasted and primed. If you're going to be in the city anytime soon, I'll toss my 60 series smog carb in a box and keep it in the truck. If not I'll be heading up through N-Brook tomorrow evening. I can drop it off to you if you want.

Ordered the kit and other stuff too. 12 noon delivery today. They have good service at Carquest and resonable prices.
