I need to replace the DS front fender on my 100-series and am looking for recommendations for a place to paint, blend and install.

Please let me know if there are places that should be avoided also.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks again...Lance

Ive recently been using Rains Precision Motorsports for my engine rebuild. great work and my 350 is running like a champ now.

They have full body/paint shop as well. Based on my work it might be a pricey but worth asking Glenn Rains, 303.748.3043

I got six estimates on my hood, ranging from $300 to $680. (Prior owner let bird poop sit on it, which ate a hole in the single stage paint. Then he had it resprayed with two-stage paint. The clear is now peeling off.)

Here's my impressions of the places I checked out.

Maaco - Wanted to sand and respray (almost all others said sanding would not fix the underlying problem ), "might use primer", 2 year warranty (all others said lifetime warranty). Obviously the cheapest.

Global Collision - Fairly new in COS. High estimate. More negative than positive feedback on the net.

DMI - Very neat, organized, and has a window where you can watch them do the work. Can check status of your vehicle online. Friendly ppl, cushy waiting area. The most expensive estimate. Has a LOT of rave reviews on Google, but they almost sound like ringers or paid endorsements. This shop really stands out in the way it runs its business but given the lack of verifiable third party reviews, I wonder if it is really as good as it sounds. I got burned by a dentist who seemed very similar in many ways, so as much as I'd love to try them, I think I'll pass.

Wreckmasters - They have a good reputation for high quality work at a good price. Second lowest estimate. Getting the estimate was a real pain. This place is the opposite of DMI, for better or worse.

Ray Wilson's - Good reputation, clean shop, 3-time"Best of COS" winner, friendly, good price, nothing really unusual but seemed solid.

Superior Collision - a very small operation (low overhead, few employees) with a very good reputation, willing to give a cash discount. Seemed like a good guy.

UPDATE: I took it to Ray Wilson's Collision. They had it 4 days and did a great job. They stripped the hood and cowl to bare metal, removed some din gs, and repainted. The hood looks like new and the paint match is perfect. No defects. Cost was competitive and just slightly above estimate.

I'm going to try Ray Wilson's, I think.

Thanks for the reviews - I've been thinking about doing something with my paint. And have to think about the 40 some day.

Does anybody know of any spray booths that you can rent by the day? I've seen them some places, but never here. Painted a few cars with my dad growing up.
