Ute conversion

Hi I know very little about landcruisers but wonder if it is possible to convert a standard landcruiser to a ute? There aren't many landcruisers in this configuration available in New Zealand that are not next to new. I am looking for a ute for work but am also keen to learn more about mechanics etc and diesel engines. Would this fit the bill?

Ute chops for 70s aren't quite as common as other models simply because they were available from the factory.

However, there are a few specimens floating around.... here's one:

There's plenty of troopy's in OZ that have been cut down into hj75's plus there 55, 60, 80, 100, 200 series etc.
