Hello, i'm new owner of LC 2008. But surprised that it is almost impossible to find/buy any solution to have modern USB MP3 playback. I personally don't like any Tesla-style devices due to absence of hardware switches and so on. And seems as not possible to use any 3rd parties head units due to integration of climate control to factory device. So, the most obvious way for me is to buy 2010 stereo . But, there some problems could be of component compatibles.I know about CD-Chaner emulators, but seems there few limitations exist like Folder structure and may be sound quality.

Any ideas or realized projects from members ? Thank you in advance.

There's a audio adapter kit that BestBuy sells which is a great option, since there's soo much space for them to integrate the USB drive to look factory.
Used to have it in my FJ80. Haven't done it to my 2008 since I just use the 3.5mm jack.
The cost with install from Bestbuy is mid 200 if I remember correctly

How it works? As extension of CD changer connector?

@Rinat it's an adapter they connect to the back of the factory head unit. So they would pull the head unit out attach the connectors, and put it back in (everything stays looking factory). To use the USB port you would select the AM/SAT option out of the audio outputs, which enables you to use the USB port. Best option I've found and used without having to change out the entire unit. I am a big fan of keeping the interior looking factory if I can.
