Looks like the wild wild west of flying these things near airports will come to a close. To many near incident reports of drones getting to close to flying aircraft. I think there was five drones flying near some California wildfires prompted the fire marshal to stop all water dropping operations until the operators of those craft were found.

Task force will mandate drone registration process - CNNPolitics.com

I'm still trying to figure this whole deal out. Seems like they are mostly aiming at those who fly around airports, large crowds, sporting events, etc. Interested in how this will effect the folks who fly over private property and don't go over a hundred or so feet in rural BFE.... Who are miles away from anything...

I am interested to see how this unfolds. I understand why, another example of a few dumba$$ ruining it for the rest.

So, basically any r/c aircraft could be considered a drone.

"Drone Registration Process"? Really?

This is why I'm selling all my r/c aircraft, including my "Killer, Death from Above" quadcopter. See my ad in mudbay.

A few idiots, including the feds, have ruined the hobby and the fun for the rest of us.

Another way for the government to make money with a registration fee.
