Heads up to anyone in Colorado this summer that there’s quite a bit of construction on US 50. The worst part is between Gunnison and Montrose where it’s closed except for a few one-hour blocks per day where they let 85-90 cars go one way in each direction at a time. I lucked out and was car 60 in the 12:30 time slot and pulled up just before 12:00. They let the West to East traffic go first in that slot. It looked like it was most backed heading west from Gunnison to Montrose.

There were a few other spots with one-way traffic between Gunnison and Poncha Springs to watch out for. The west-bound traffic was also the most backed up.
