I wonder what the trail would be like this time of year? Muddy from melting snow? Does the trail get snow during the winter? Anybody ran the trail recently?

I did Coyote Canyon North in March of '04 (man, how time flies...), and at this time of year, it was shorts and t-shirts weather, well into the night.

Apparently, in Borrego Springs, it's running up into the low 80s and down into the upper 50s at night. ******* glorious weather.

Anza did have snow a couple of months ago. Not sure about now.

I ran it about 6 months ago, not too challenging except a short off shoot to the south. Baileys cabin is pretty cool to check out at bottom. I would not think any snow would be there except when it hits the lower elevations. Fun for a half day run on the trail, but a days trip for the sd crowd since you have to drive through anza on the way in and out. Sure would be great to get it open all the way through.

I was in the general area out at Lost Valley Boy Scout camp last weekend. Camp is near Warner Springs. No snow on any of the peaks in the area that I could see.

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I will let you know when I plan to head out (this Saturday or the following one) to see if anybody would care to join me.

Ha! Search "Horse Canyon". It's at the bottom of the 'Turkey Track'. It runs north in relation to Bailey's Cabin. Plenty challenging.

Check out Alder Canyon too. Basically find Baley's cabin and head West.

We did do alder canyon not too challenging except one spot, looked like a great camping site near the end in what was left of the burned trees. In fact on our way out of alder canyon a gut in a ford taurus was coming up it. We did not catch horse canyon. Wish I would have done a search before, I just found on the park map.

Maybe next time. I do want to try an overnight trip out here one day.
