Play in the joint. There shouldn't be any up or down sloppiness. I have an extra boot kit if that's all you need.

Thank you for the tip on walking the ball joint out. Of I hadn’t read this thread I would have lost my mind trying to press out the bad BJ. I got the drivers side done just done have the gumption to do the passenger side today. Maybe tomorrow. Also got to donate blood to this tank when my tool slipped and grazed my right eyebrow.

Did you replace just the boot or the entire ball joint ? Im trying to just replace the boot and looking for a video or detailed write up on how to do just that...
