Unusual start up

When I start my truck I am not getting the usual high rpm warm up. The rpms go up when I start it then instantly drop to around 500. I am having an issue with rough idle as well. Like at stop lights and in park. I found lots on rough idle in search almost to much. Any one have any ideas what may be causing this? Are they related? Any help would be appreciated.

The intake hose cracked?

I will put that on my list of things to check also vacuum leaks.

The intake hose I have on there is definitely not stock. It looks like a accordion.

So do you guys think that the rough idle and weird start are related?

possible, does one always happen when the other does? maybe you have an egr that's stuck open a bit or a lot a bit

Did you disconnect the battery recently? The computers take a bit to remember idle RPMs etc, like 5-10 starts.

I just fiddling with the intake hose and the problem is gone. I was just moving it around to see if I had any cracks or anything. I will probably end up replacing it. They were definitely related both problems gone. Thanks for the suggestions.

^ This. Everytime i disconnect the battery for an extended period I get a high idle on the first restart.
