My wife has a 21 GX460 that we bought brand new, literally put the first mile on it out of the Tahara factory. It is now approaching 50k miles and we replaced the factory dunlop tires with some toyo at's last spring of 24. We got an alignment wheel balance etc at a tire shop and within a year they have started to wear super uneven. Mind you she has the sport premium GX460 so the tire sizes are for the black stock 19" sport rims.
This has been very frustrating. I am on visit #6 with this tire shop now. Each time the tires have caused the vehicle to shake above 60mph like they are un balanced. The shop claims the vehicle is aligned and everything looks good, but they noted that the tires are egg shaped and it may be a factory defect. After months of debating toyo we received 2 new tires for free, the problem is, 4 tires are worn down. We got them to agree on a discount for 2 more tires. Those are shipping to the shop now. I drove home on the 2 new tires in front and the best of the 4 tires in the rear, it still shakes above 60mph. The other tires arrive this week and Im getting them installed.
At this point Im extremely frustrated. The shop has been slow to deal with the issue, Toyo has been nightmare, the vehicle drove smooth before the tire change and has driven poorly since the tire change. I dont know if the shop is the problem, the Toyo tires, or if it might be something else like suspension. If this continues after the tire change Im going to drive to a Lexus dealership, the closest one is an hour away, and get them to investigate. I wish I had gone with Michelins now.
Has anyone had this headache?
