U-Bolt flip?

I was under the 60 today (trying to undo some China Wall exhaust and skid plate carnage) and noticed I've been beating the out of the plates/u-bolts that hold the leaf springs in place.

I've also ground about half of my shock mounts off.

Who's used those kits to flip the u-bolts? Do they offer any better protection for the shocks? Is there a product you'd recommend?

Man-A-Fre has their 4+ u bolt flips. I had them on my wagon. They are very nice, and expensive ($150 per axle if I remember right). Give you some clearance.

I've heard of U-bolt skid plates. Haven't seen them though.

Dang it Mark--you were supposed to keep those when you parted out your 60! You knew I was going to need them!

I have some leftover u-bolt skid plates for my 40 if you are interested. I went with Man-A-Fre's u-bolt flip kit; let me know if you would like to see it. I can't come to the meeting tomorrow, I don't think. If that changes, I'll drive the 40. Vic 439-9602

FYI, FJ40 and FJ60's springs are different widths. They won't work.
