Been talking with Graham about these kits, I had my dog hit the dash a few times and would like to eliminate that hazard...

This kit is sold by 4plus for 219.00US, he mentioned in a thread that he would sell just the plates for 140.00US if you buy more than one set..

Another idea, maybe head up to NWF and get Lance to cut the plates and make our own? The killer is ubolts, they are more expensive than the ones I get from Austraila. Just called Westshore spring, 70 dollars per axle :meh:

Wow didn't know flip kits were so expensive. . Spring over kits from ruff stuff are like $130 us per axle... plates, ubolt, spring perches...

Not saying to go spring over but it might be worth ur time to give ruff stuff a call and see if they would make u some flip kits... good customer service when I delt with them...

Also other methods. You'd probably save a bit on ubolts this way.

I made a couple like the yellow one for a cruiser once. (didn't paint them yellow)

Theoretically, if a machine shop was able to bend that profile out of say 3/8" plate you could get a long section made then cut it into lengths.

should still weld in gussets around bolts tho.

I would be very interested in paying for a bunch of those, I like the way it keeps the shock mount lower

yeah, I think it depends on whether a shop can actually bend up that profile, 1/4" plate isn't thick enough, it might be ok with the right gussets...I'd say it's a bit marginal tho.

I could see the shape being too tight to do out of the thicker stuff (just a guess )

if a shop COULD bend that up, it'd be pretty slick to have a 4' section that just needed drilling and cutting to length.

If that doesn't work , zapping the shoes together with angle is a bit of a pain in the ass compared to using the GM plates, or some other custom setup.

I suspect those gm plates are damn near cheaper than you could build them, just have the usual headache with the front right one.

And like I said, the grooved out bottom plates are easy to do on a drill press ( clamp together with some door skin between and drill on edge) but they'd be easier still on a proper milling machine, and easy enough to ad a shock mount to.

Kye at NWF, said its a numbers game...cnc the plates out is the easy part, setting the mill up to drill and recess the plates is another deal.

Either way I am sure its not something he will do..

having a length bent up shouldn't be overly difficult, then its just a matter of cutting to the proper length. All drilling can be done on a standard drill press, just a little slower than a cnc could do it.

gussets are easy to weld on too
