I'll make these quick. '96 FZJ80

1. With a warm transmission my level is at the bottom of the dipstick. Approx how many quarts will it take to bring the level to the top. (its freezing cold, and night and I just want a general idea so i don't have to mess around outside tonight)

2. How do I check the transmission level when cold, the book only mentions the hot/warm procedure?

thanks!

theres a cold/hot indicator on the dipstick. id start off with a quart, drive it tomorrow, check it after its warm (i believe proper way is engine running @ temp?) and add more if needed...

I think it will be two quarts. but better to start with one to avoid dealing with an overfill task.

thank you guys very much!
