Question for the Jedi Council:

I'm having trouble with my right turn signal.
The left turn signal works fine.
When I engage the right signal, the light comes on - but doesn't flash. When I say light comes on, I mean on the dash, and on the front/rear lights.
On rare occasion, it will work for a few seconds (flashes), and then stay solid again.

I am currently trying to debug my 74 FJ40's electrical system, which includes LED tail-lights. Having done some research, I can offer an idea about what is happening, but I am no authority. The flasher unit in our trucks will cut off the current to the signals when there is enough resistance in the circuit. This resistance is reached when the bulb filaments are on long enough where heat increases the resistance.

My theory is that the circuit to the right side of the truck is different than the left. I would first experiment with swapping the bulbs from the right side front and rear lights with those on the left. It's a simple swap to determine whether the bulbs themselves are the culprit.

You can't blame the flasher since it is working fine for the left side. If my experiment proves nothing, then maybe the turn signal switch needs to be be cleaned out.

Good luck,

Check your red dash Bulb it may have burnt loosened up also if Its not grounded well will cause your turn signal not to work.
