A CT20 from a 2LTE or 2LT will be too small... it will work, but you're going to be off the map with it (you'll spool too fasts and not have much top end, and probably over-speeding the turbo).

For the oil drain, remove your oil pan, punch a big hole in it near the top and weld in a bung or piece or pipe.

Good luck... home brew is fun, but a kit is easier.

Kits for a B engine turbo?

There are kits to turbo a B? Who makes em and where? I would definitely like to price such a kit. PM me if people think that this is a hijack. Thanks.

How can you be sure? Are you basing your speculation only on the displacement differences of the motors or some other empirical evidence?

If the 2L motor produced torque at higher RPM's wouldn't that increase in exhaust gas volumn equalize things and make the CT20 a possible candidate for a bigger, slower turning 3B?

Not trying to be difficult, just trying on my current level understanding of matching turbos to motors.

AXT kits...aussie.

Thanks. I just checked their site and while I see a kit for the 3B, I didn't see one for the B engine. Did I miss something?:hhmm: Does the kit for the 3B also fit the B?:hhmm: Anyway I just sent them an email so I was just wondering if you knew this off the top of your head. Thanks.

Snailtrail,
Thanks for the link. Al I can say is HOLY S__T Batman:eek::eek::eek: For that price plus shipping I could definitely get a 13 BT with decent mileage on it. Assuming that the numbers, after turbo charging, of the B and the 13 BT are the same, with similar costs, for me the call would depend on if I wanted to keep the original matching number B that bad. :hhmm: I think that I'll send an email the Turboglide guys to see if the numbers really do match up. Thanks for the link.

That price is if they do the install. If you do it, the cost is a bit less.

Oh really! I will ask them how much if they just ship the kit. Thanks for the heads up.

No go on B kit from AXT

Hey guys,
I just got the email back from AXT and the sales rep says that not only do they not have a kit for the B engine but the lack of a piston cooling skirt and other features make it "less than desirable" to even try to turbo charge. That leaves twp options on going turbo on the B, kit: turbo Glide for approx $2700.00 AUD (roughly $2590.00USD) or DIY. Still waiting to hear back from TurboGlide.:hhmm:

Jabxyz,

I am new on this forum and would like congratulate you all for your experiences and wonderfull feedback ! Both B and 3B's engines are well popular here in France and are both turbocharged. The B engine is mostly used with a K14 or T25, fuel pump injection as 2 turns backward on its screw, pressure max is adjusted up to 0,5-0,6bar max and works fine.

R's,

The B is a 3 litre isn't it?

Plenty of guys here who've fitted CT20's to the 2.8L 3L motors. The owners say there's not much top-end, but they spool quickly.
Does the B rev higher or lower than the 3L? If it doesn't rev as high then the total airflow will be similar.

I'd say do it but keep the boost and EGT's down. Worst case is the turbo gives up.

There was a post on here about 6 months ago where someone dug into the bottom half of their B and found that it does indeed have piston skirt cooling. They posted pics as well.

I'll never be able to find it again, but its here somewhere. Food for thought.

I'm looking for info in installing a turbo on my 76cruiser b engine.i have a 04t turbo kit but I dont see a waste gate on the turbo and no bleed off valve.do I need an intercooler also?
