I had heard about this a few months back and today Ii received my letter from Toyota Canada Inc.
"In certain 2004 through 2007 Model Year Sequoia and 2004 through 2006 Model Year Tundra vehicles, during the manufacturing process, there is a possibility that the surface of the ball portion of the ball joint may have been scratched or damaged which can cause gradual loss of the lubricant for the ball joint. This may cause ball joint to wear and loosen prematurely which could cause increased steering effort, reduced vehicle self-centering and noise in the front suspension. In the worst case, continued operation of a vehicle with this condition may cause the lower ball joint to separate from the knuckle which could cause loss of control of the vehicle and increase the risk of an accident resulting in serious injury or death."
Thus they want my truck back for half a day or so to replace the lower ball joints for free.
On the bright side at least Toyota recalls such a problem ..did Chrysler recall their Dakota's and Durango's yet for their bad ball joints?
