Tundra air down question

I have a 17’ Tundra that I purchased a while back that came with 20” Fuel wheels and 33” 12.50 tires (F load rating). I think 0 back spacing. I will switch to 17” wheels eventually . I will be headed to Ft. Fisher soon and would like some help on the air pressure for the soft beach sand. I’ve searched and it seems 20-22 lbs is a safe bet due to the 20” wheels. So my question is around 15-18 lbs being feasible. Is this air pressure too low or risky on the 20’s? I believe the Fuel’s just have the bead lock look only.

Any recommendations? I have always had 16” or 17” wheels in the past, so never really thought about it as much. Thanks!

If you’re not riding on a wide tire with a narrow rim (ie: a higher likelihood of popping a bead), then I suspect you’re good down to 20psi but bring a full size spare to be safe. Heck, you can probably go down lower than that but with a thinner sidewall that potentially creates other issues.

Thanks for the help. I was curious how low was safe with a 20” wheel in F rated. I figure the sidewalls are very stiff in F. The tires are Toyo AT3’s in 33 12.50, so they are wide. I will just go with 20 psi to be safe. I was hoping for 15 lb but figured that was a no go on 20” wheels.
