The only drawback I see with that would be getting the doors aligned properly when you want to put them back on. You would also have to make a plug type disconnect for all the wires that are in the door. It would make for a nice summertime vehicle though.
Her is an idea someone with excellent photoshop skills take your fj open the doors snap a picture and then take them off in photoshop lets see what it really looks like.
