So after having a look at my back bumper and the damages it has received over the past couple of trips I had to do something because it was starting to be a danger. Before Cruiser Days I cut shortened it a bit and tried straightening it out with some very large hammers. I did notice that the rear cross member was lifted up at the peak (must have been a good rock) and that cause the frame rails to be brought in and at an angle too. I though that was it for damages, I was wrong. So I started building a new rear bumper (which I will give more info on that later) and today I finished most of it and managed to get it mounted. The rust and rock damages included the following: tire cross member under tank - totally ripped off on one side (rust and stress), back cross member also ripped off on one side due to rust and rocks, bumper was not even worth looking at, the frame was close to being the right spacing at the top (about 1/8" too close together) but the bottom was way in, about 1 1/4" over all. So once I removed everything on the back of the frame I welded a piece across the top, used the jack all to space out the bottom to the correct dimension and managed to install the new bumper which also acts as the cross member (for now at least).
As for the bumper, I will post pics soon but it has excellent approach angles and I will be looking at making more of them so for those interested I will post up details and pics.
