i love this car -only had it 3 months - prior to that was owned from new by a family friend was reg serviced however had no love and was used as a work vehicle
3 months of cleaning her up and replacing heater core, tie rod ends shackle bushes, flushing out the engine and radiator and changing a few essential fluids and she drives brilliantly - pulls like a train and after 350+k's is not blowing any smoke (yet!)
i gave it a hug this morning :)

PS -thats not my boat - belongs to a mate of mine (they are the best ones right!)

Where is the boat ramp Bill, doesnt ring a bell here and Ive been to a few in WA?

They certainly are a brilliant vehicle(if you can keep the rust out). Next job on mine is to go through the dash, without pulling it out:D,and tighten/replace the screws inside to eradicate the rattles in the morning.
I tried adjusting the hand throttle but when one rattle stops at a certain rpm, another starts :crybaby:

Then Im going to get all the red dust out of the rear. I think the vents on the sides may be permanently open and it went down the canning stock route like that.
Im also going to line the interior side trims with outdoor carpet.

Gday Rosco,
its a half @rse boat ramp at Royal Perth Yacht CLub in Nedlands (near UWA uni) - and yes she does have a bit of cancer - rust in the top of the turret where the snorkel bolts on, in the roof from a full length roof rack ( i removed) and rear sills as a result of not having mudflaps for about 10 years! (sloppy!)
mine has a few rattles.... but i just put some speakers in the front doors and turn up the stereo a bit ! :)
my floor vinyl has shrunk (over time) -it misses the sill trim plastic by about 1-2cm each side! - was going to buy another but dont think it is going to add any value!

Royal Perth Yacht Club lol,you are living the high life.
I was going to replace my floor with some fitted carpet.
Mine come from Paraburdoo, nice and dry up there, hence low rust.

haha
read 2nd post carefully -(not my boat) :)
carpet not a bad idea...., sunny Paraburdoo, certainly is a dry place, i think it rained there....... once!

I saw it wasnt your boat,I thought you maybe had friends there. Besides if you 're in the RPYC you wouldnt need a boat ramp, you would need a mooring and a crew LOL

I wouldnt want to be in Para when it rains. The 1s time I went there it had just finished and the red dirt turned into a treacle like sludge that stuck to everybody and everything.
