How much longer is the rear overhang of the Troopie than the FJ40s rear overhang?

Allen

Actually From both would be appreciated. Thanks

Rufus,
Thanks that was perfect! They gave me the information I was looking for and then some.

Are there drawings like those that show the interior dimensions of the 40 & 45/47? Mostly the area aft of the front seats.

What manual or book did those pages come from? I really need to start gathering up manuals for the rebuild.

Thanks again, Allen

Bull,
I am thinking seriously about bobbing a troopies' rear overhang to the FJ40 size overhang.

The reason I am looking for the interior dimensions is for packing and equipment storage planning. I had the FJ40 interior dimensions but can't
find them now.:frown:

I think the FJ43 has the best balance in proportions, but I suppose your thinking of FJ40 so you can use a top?

EDIT: Found an old thread with the frame dimensions, might be useful or is that what Rufus scanned? Will have to see if the 43 is also in the book. Is a 42 the same as a 43?

None of the manuals I have indicate any interior dimensions. I can take whatever interior measurements you need from my 45 and/or 42. I'll need to do it anyway at some point since I'll plan to set it up as an expedition/camping vehicle.

I scanned the 43 as well. I just didn't post it. It's here if you want it:

There are also some other diagrams that show the differences in engine mounting locations for the B/H/F versions of the various base frames. I can post them too if anyone needs them.

I recollect a thread where something similar was dicussed, seeing the dimensions reminded me.

Overhang on the 45 LWB isn't actually that large and shortening would still allows a good size interior, should be easy to photoshop the cut just to see what it would look like.

Rufus,
This will be built as an expedition rig also.

When you get a chance, the main measurements I'm looking for on the 40/42 and 45/47 are:

inside width
width between wheel wells
height of wheel wells
floor to ceiling
rear of door frame (back of seats) to rear doors
maybe rear door opening

I realize these will all be the same between the 40/42 & 45/47 except for the length.

I had all these measurements on the FJ40 but be darned if I can find them!

Malcb,

I found some nice side shots of Troopies but don't have have or know how to use photoshop. It's on the list of things to get & learn to do.

The overhang on a Troopie appears to be approximately 16.5" longer than a FJ40
