Calling all Landcruiser Owners! Old North State Cruisers and Triple C Brewing are hosting a memorial meet up in honor of David Grossman. Dave loved Land Cruisers and had quite a collection. We want to raise some money for his favorite charity and get some folks to the brewery for fun, fellowship, BBQ and beers! We hope to make this an annual event in Dave's Honor.

When: Saturday, May 23rd @ 12pm

Where: Triple C Parking Lot (closed to all other cars) 2900 Griffith St, Charlotte, NC 28203

Drinks: First Round paid for by the Friends of David Grossman. #LetDaveBeDave. Full beer, wine, cider, liquor, THC and NA menus.

Food: Free Pork Ribs hot off the smoker for all Landcruiser owners in attendance while supplies last. Full Izzy's Menu available for purchase.

Charity: $1 from each beverage sold from 12-4pm and a suggested $10 donation per cruiser will be donated to MountainTrue.

I will be there, looking forward to it.

For those unfortunate souls that didnt know David Grossman, he was a legend. I met him through mutual friends many years ago and we became close these last several years. He was kind to everyone, hilarious, extremely intelligent and could tell a great story that had you hanging on every word, always the life of the party. He was a devoted family man to his wife and two children. Among his many accomplishments, he was a fly fishing guide for many years and started a magazine on the subject, Southern Culture on the Fly.

That graphic of him above was when we went wheeling in Windrock in Feb of '24. He was sitting in the passenger seat of my 80 in that pic, until we switched and he drove us around for a while. At the time, I was considering selling the 80, but I loved that truck and it was special to me for a few reasons and I didnt like the thought of it going to some random person. But after that trip, he fell in love with it wanted to buy it and I couldnt think of a better person to have it. Dave had previously owned a 40 and a 62. He was an avid fisherman for most of his life and became an avid hunter more recently. He had built out a Sprinter van for long distance hunting and fishing trips out west. But he grew tired of that and decided to get back into Cruisers. He bought my 80 for more of a daily driver and short term camping/hunting trip and had just recently imported a 70 Series Troopy for his long distance and longer hunting trips. The Troopy originally came from Autralia, then to the Middle East before landing in California. He flew to Cali to pick it up and drive it back to Asheville. Before heading back east, he went to Stockton and visited Georg at Valley Hybrids @orangefj45 and had him give it a once over and install new suspension. Dave had offered to pay for my expenses to accompany him on that trip and as much as I wanted to, I couldnt make it work. I will forever wish I could have done that with him.

Dave also recently purchased a 100 Series for his son, so the Cruiser love lives on with him.

Dave had been talking about doing some sort of Land Cruiser get together at Triple C Brewery which is owned by another friend of ours Chris Harker. I never thought we would be doing it without him. But hopefully we can do this every year and I look forward to meeting others that knew him and talking Cruisers, as Dave loved to do.
