The Adventure Duo: Bodie or Bust!

Awesome report Dave! I can't wait to actually attend one of these trips with you one day...in my own rig!

Does this mean you are moving back?

Brent,

That would be nice in more ways than one! I don't see the family going for that. I do, however, have a goal to spend a month of the year, each year, back out west with my rig. I get closer and closer to tha goal each day!

Great write up Dave.. We went last year but got there so late in the afternoon didn't get to see everything... We'll be heading up to Bridgeport again in a few weeks to do some camping and fishing and hopefully get to see the rest of Bodie.... I've drivin thru Lee Vining numerous times and never knew there was an upside down house!! I'll have to check that out this year!

Great write up Dave-

I spent a lot of time dual sport riding in that area and have not seen half of it. There are miles and miles of open trails on the east side of the 395. Next time your up that way hit up some of the geothermal hot springs east of Tom's place and south of Mono lake for a refreshing soak. It's Great way to relax before that long drive down the 395.

Awesome Dave! You're so fortunate to be able to take so many neat trips . . . and I'm so lucky to be able to live vicariously through your reports!

I went to Bodie YEARS ago. Must've been the late 80's or early 90's. Bodie is truly a ghost town. Because almost everything was left behind, you get the impression the townsfolk just disappeared. The water level in Mono Lake was very low when I was there, and looking at your pictures, it still appears so.
