Trimming fender/running board mount

Has anyone trimmed or cut the front mounting point for the side steps? There appear to be 3-4 bolts that possibly hold the front fender trim in place? I’d love to cut it but don’t want to end up with loose trim. Anyone else cut this out?

Blue dog design works makes a nice trim piece that clips in there to cover it up. Around $40.00 for both,
…if that’s a option!

Thx. I probably should have mentioned trying those as a filler already. Great design, but my tires pulled the main pin out. I also had a lot more rub with them on.

Ideally I’d like to cut the last inch of the flare and remove the box/bracket at the bottom. I’m sure someone’s taken the risk, just curious how it worked out.

Maybe the problem is your caster needs to be 4 degrees or higher. Need aftermarket UCAs?

I have Ironman UCAs installed and aligned. Probably need to do a BMC. That said, really only looking to see if anyones cut this section out and the results.

OP did you ever trim these?
