TRD or Trails Team

Currently own a fzj80 and have been looking at the FJC.
I am curious what the difference is between the TRD, Trails team, and the plain FJC, other than the cost, color palate and stickers?

Also, if a lift and bumpers are in order, are either of the special edition FJCs worth the extra cost?

In my opinion, no. I bought mine (in 2006) fairly loaded, and ended up replacing the roof rack, both bumpers, sliders, and skid plate with aftermarket (not to mention a ton of other stuff too). I would have been money way ahead to have bought a stripped base model to start with. Oh well, live and learn.

^^^ he's speaking the truth. All you need is 4wd, and the rear locker. the rest will be replaced if you really get into modding.

Mine was stock but for the keyless entry and rear locker. There are no real "functional" differences other than badging and color options...

i never understood the point in getting the trd or tt and then take off every thing that makes it the trd. but thats me

Had an 07 for 2 years. Was hard beating up a vehicle that I bought for so much cash. God I love my 80! Best part is there isn't a loan on her. Not to mention the 7 passenger seating, sweet comfort on and off the road, outstanding visibility from the driver's seat, factory front and rear locks, did I mention a SOLID front axle.

All this said... I really do miss the attention my mod'd FJC gave me. I'm sure I'll pick up another one later in life. I kind of miss her.
