Looking for a bit of assistance. I've lost 2nd gear in my H55F in my BJ74 and plan to swap the transmission out this winter. I've only really worked with 40 series stuff so looking forward to messing with the BJ74.
Question is how tricky is it to remove the transmission? Is there a transmission cover I can remove similar to the 40 series? I've done a few and its fantastic to have all that room to work with. I'm hoping the 70 series is the same. I just don't want to start tearing up the carpet if it doesn't need to be.

It is as easy as a 40. Well maybe not that easy but just about!

Yes you need to remove the shifters to pull the trans. Remove seats and carpet and it will be obvious what to do next.

Just do the normal things like surface the flywheel and change the clutch. I say change rear main seal too but that is up to you.

Cheers

Nothing tricky, just hard work.

Cool, good to hear. Thanks guys
