Transmission and Transfer Temps?

I just installed an H55F and rebuilt my transfer case.. Prior to this I never paid any attention to the temp of my old units.

Now, as part of ensuring everything is working properly, I've been checking the temp with an IR thermometer.. I notice my transfer case and transmission are usually similar in temperature, but definitely a bit hotter than I expected.. Regular driving around town is about 140-150 degrees... Highway driving gets it up to 160..

Seems hot, but is that to be expected? These units have 300 miles on them right now.

Those temp readings sound perfectly normal.
A full-synthetic oil will withstand sump temperatures in excess of 300 degrees.
