How do I go about removing the transfer case from the transmission? I have removed all of the bolts that attach it, but it doesnt seem to want to come off. Is it ok for me to stand the transmission up on the bellhousing or lay it flat to do this? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Andy

It tells you what vehicles I have, the only one that fits this forum is the 89 4runner. I did see the other post but that was a 4 cyl. auto versus my V6 5psd...

Yes you can stand it up on end. I store mine that way. You may lose some gear lube from the shifter hole in the top though. If you have a forward mount transfer case shifter you need to make sure the shifters have been removed. Try tapping it with a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer while pulling on the driveshaft flange. I have seen some where someone hase sealed the two together with silicone and it makes them hard to get apart.
