New to the forum and this is my first post:/. Having trouble locating an oil leak on my 79 series cruiser. The oil is Transmission oil (pretty sure) that has sprayed all over the main fuel tank! Imedeitly I thought it was coming from the transfer case as its directly in front of the tank, however the outside of the transfer case seems fairly dry, if anything there's a slight and I mean slight leak from the bottom of a gasket but the rest is all dry. My question is could this be leaking from a breather when it's warmed up and travelling at speed which is spraying back onto the tank? Could there be pressure build up causing a seal or the breather to blow? It's not the output shaft seal either as i have replaced this previously. Are there any pipes or oil lines which run over the fuel tank that could be leaking onto the tank itself? Pretty sure there all fuel lines though! This one has me stumped!!!
