Transfer case lash?

I'm doing U-joints today in my 2004 LC and have the rear driveshaft out. I noticed I could rotate the rear output on the transfer case a few degrees, and the front drive shaft would rotate the same amount. Is this lash normal or does it indicate a wear issue in the transfer case? Thanks in advance for any knowledge you might share with me!

Normal. The backlash is not in the tcase gears but from the ring and pinion gears in your Front or Rear differential gears.
