I am having a hell of a time loosening my tranfer case filler plug. It Should be a 24 mm wrench but it is slipping. Any Ideas?

Grind the 24mm socket down that it has real sharp edges, originaly most sockets are rounded, that doesnt work well with these flatheads. ;)

Ok, I have officially torn it all to hell. Now what? This is a typical outcome for me do it yourself screw it up and then pay more to fix.

If you have access to a welder you can tack-weld a nut to the top of the plug so you can take it off; since you're just replacing the plug anyway.......

I think that is probably the best way to tackle this. I will keep you guys posted on my result. Thank you all for the great advice.

That did it! I had a nut welded on top. It cracked like a safe. I am back on the road again.

Thanks to all.
