just reading this thread as i found it interesting that the LS460 has a "sealed" transmission and you cannot flush the system. Even my older LS400 says that the fluid shouldn't need flushing ever.

So, did the dealer flush the tranny?

I always thought the LS460 would have that service. Lexus has always been for keeping solid service records to help with resale.

It still amazes me that Lexus recommends changing the LX570 key fob battery while no mention is required to the Land Cruiser.

Also, Lexus recommends changing brakes fluids at around 30k while Land Cruiser is not needed.

Maybe different parts? I think its just because its a Lexus.

perhaps. Interesting discussion. I know when i took my lexus to the dealer for service they reprimanded me for putting Mobil 1 synthetic in the transmission when i've been running it for 8 years on my cruiser.

I will let you know in the next couple of weeks, thanks...

Just wanted to give everyone an update. I got busy but finally was able to take it to the dealer at around 74k miles and asked for a transmission flush.

The service adviser declined about four times and explained to me that it does not need it until 100k. I then told him that I fully understand his explanation and that I am requesting to have it done so he happily complied.

After the complete flush and $260 later the 200 seems to be driving the same and I will let everybody know if anything changes...

This thread cracks me up.....
