Tranny wiring question

Hi All,
Searched, but couldn't find the pics I was looking for.

On the picture, I've got #1 wired up, but #2's wires broke off the 'plug'.
I think #1 is the reverse light switch and #2 is some sort of sensor. I have no emissions in the truck anymore, so if I don't need to replace #2 I'd be better off.

Am I right, or am I backwards?

Don't worry about #2....it is a 'top gear' switch for the emissions controlling device.



#1 is the reverse lamp switch.
