I had a strange problem over the weekend. I am searching but I wanted to know if anyone else has come across this issue. I had been driving about three hours and the family needed a potty break so we stopped. When we got back in the truck, I fired it up, put it in drive and applied gas. The truck moved but it was revving high and not going very fast. It felt like it was being held back like the breaks were partially applied or the e-brake was on (even though they dont work that well going forward :))

I went to park then back to drive, same problem. I turned the engine off then on again, with the same result. I then cycled the transfer case through the gears with the trans in park and everything was fine after that. This did not feel like it was in low range so I don't suspect that. It was labored and did not shift. Low range would have jumped off the line. Take a look at my sig for the trucks specs. I hope you guys might have some insight.

Thanks

Yep, I should have added that. Fluid level is right on and looks good. It has about 60K since a flush.

Had the same problem. Start off in low gear then move up to drive. It'll get better after about 100 yards. Might need a flush or worse, a rebuild.

I only had the problem happen once. This happened a week ago and I have been driving it as my DD ever since. It has been performing fine except for that isolated incident.
