Trails near Buffalo River, Arkansas

Hey guys, we're making a quick trip to canoe down the Buffalo River this weekend and I was wondering if you guys knew of any trails/unpaved roads to explore while we're in the area.

What do you guys know about the area (or anywhere on the way to/from, for that matter)?

Jack, sent you an email with links to a bunch of trails in that area. These are from the files i downloaded from Jayston at overland guild. You can get the files from his drop box to import into a gps, which is how I got them into google maps. Use GPS visualizer to convert file types.

I'm working on putting together a trip that starts in Cassville and ends in Eureka Springs, AR, but some of those roads are only open from September to January, otherwise I'd have you recon some of that for me!

You are the man! I'll check them out throughout the day and report back what I find out. With the float happening Saturday, it doesn't leave a whole lot of time to recon and drive back Sunday.

The Cruiser did well. Anybody that's been down in that area can attest to the grades and switchbacks. Even loaded with two heavy coolers, four guys and their stuff, the 80's coolant temp didn't get over 205. Brakes were fine and the OME Mediums in the back did alright at controlling the load. The driving lights were a godsend giving us the ability to turn night into day. It's nice being able to drive past where your low beams would sit.

We didn't get an opportunity to do any exploring with the 80 due to time constraints but there are plenty of dirt roads in that area. It did see at least 32 miles of gravel roads with a full load and the suspension remained very composed the entire time.
