Trails around Bend, Oregon?

Hi All:

I will be spending a few days in Bend, Oregon later this month and was wondering whether there are any mild, scenic 4wd trails nearby.

Anyone have any info?

Just head east or west out of town and there are unlimited trails. East of town is an official offroad area with some technical wheeling and also tons of desert BLM roads. SE of town in Newberry Crater with lots of forest service roads off/around, west of town are all the old logging roads (at least the ones they haven't closed yet). You could also link into the local TLCA club web page (Oregoncruisers.com). Certain areas west of town are currently closed due to fires and construction.

This thread is for a past trip, but it sounds like they are planning another trip this coming weekend. Excellent group of people to go wheeling with.
