So i bought my truck without the tow package and eventually need to hook up a trailer. So i've been neglecting the trailer lights for sometime now, I bought the harness from toyota, and plugged it in to what i guessed was the right outlet underneath on the frame rail near the back of the truck. My turn and brake signals do not work on whatever im towing but the lights to light up (getting power). What the heck am i doing wrong/missing?

Dumb question: did you plug in the part of the harness that goes underneath the dash board on the driver's side?
