SSR, those are all great ideas for sure. Come down from the balcony any time, your thoughts are always welcome. I will look for your build for sure. I have added a water tank in the "Let there be water" thread and more stuff on the way. I need a slight lift to offset the added weight and I am looking into building, or having one built, stainless kitchen on slides to take the place of the too large but beautiful kitchen I have now. Its never ending.

I love the ideas! Now stop making me so jealous about your shop! How far away do you live???

That's for the Welcome! [Short Hijack ON]
The "SSR" Nomenclature is cleaver; I may start using that as it's a lot easier and faster to type. My Internet name came from the Isuzu Rodeo I built to go wheeling. It has 20 forward and 4 reverses in the transmission. (Marlin Crawlers) Compound 1st is a Ditch Which gear ratio!
Since I'm retired and have a ""FERTILE Mind", I have too much time to dream stuff up and surf the Net for ideas. Sharing the fertilizer is always a fun part of creative thinking!

I live in the Thriving Metropolis of Rhome, TX If you've ever been to Dallas/ Fort Worth area then you've been close to me. I'm just off the Highway that goes to Moab from Fort Worth. My little town has a thriving population of 637. No Street signals at any intersections. Not even a flashing light! It's all stop signs. We're so backwards out here you have to drive 14 miles just to get groceries. But, all my neighbors are Retired Pilots or some such. Everyone has big hangers or shops behind their houses which make it entertaining with our own private air show whenever the wind isn't blowing too bad for the little planes. It's a grass runway, but we do have landing lights. But those are more so the biplanes don't bump into each other on the ground!

Should you guys ever come through this way and need help give me a shout. Me Casa is Su Casa!

Here's a teaser of the trailer build and a small peek outside the shop.

No the wheels aren't crooked! It steers around obstacles.
I had to stop the trailer build and miove it outside to replace the starter on my Diesel Dodge Tow Rig so I can get the tubing for the trailer body. Dang trailer build was blocking access to both lifts.

[/Short Hijack OFF]. Your build is going great. You guys have really got my wheels turning. I have nothing else to add at this time. Which is rather odd for me. Ya'll keep up the good work and I'll follow along. I'll start my own build thread once the body get's far enough along to hold everyones interest.

Happy Trails!

photogod! All I can say is GOOD JOB !

Thanks for the comments. It is coming along nicely with the water tank and camp kitchen in the works. That is going to be epic if I can have it done for the right price.

The gas cans shouldn't be a problem as I am not a Rubicon trail kind of guy. I'll admit I'm soft and like a challenge but do not like the carnage of rock climbing and really difficult trails. I am
a roamer and do like the trails but not to the point of ripping apart the vehicle or trailer. So my build is meant for easy off roading. That's how I roll. I am going to work on a two inch lift on the trailer to bring things up a bit. That will improve the ride a bit as well.

SSR,

Check Expedition Portal trailer section, there is a guy building a steerable trailer as well!

I'm heading to College Station and OKC in March, picking up a horizontal ban saw from Grandad. It pays to have a tool hording grandfather, "If you come get it, you can have it. I've owned it for 15yrs, never used it once"

If PhotoGod, gets to a point where he needs a slider for the jerry cans, its cause he followed me into something unknowingly, and he'll be pissed! :flipoff2:

If it's a Craftsman 80" verticle it will be a nice addition to the shop but they don't like heavy metal that much. Ask me how I know! The blades are $25 each. But they are nice to have in the shop and free is always good.

Your trip from OKC to College Station will pass within 12 miles of my place. You’re welcome to stop by. I’m 10 miles west of the Texas Speedway on I-35.

Someone else building a steerable Trailer?
Cool, wonder if he’s my alter ego?
Got a link to his build? I hang out there almost as much as I hang out here and Pirate!

I've seen the stuff you do and if PG follows you, it will be his own darn fault.

SSR,

If the trip goes as planned, I'll swing through and say hello!

PG,

Does winch me out! I've always had the nickname "Probe" ever since my whitewater days. "whats over that horizon line? Hey Probe, check it out." "ok."

In regards to the steerable, someone hijacked a long thread, if I find it, I'll pass it on to you.

Jeremy

Got the two inch lift on. Sits much better. Need to get the landing leg extended now. Just one more thing to do. Then plumb the water. Then.............

That looks great! Bet she'll line up nicely with the 80.
Gotta say it was a real pleasure meeting you and Jeremy
the other day. Good people!

Later! Steve
