You will not be impressed with the hella 500's.

I think the main reason I went with these is because the price & look. I liked the black housing and the HELLA plastic covers.

This really wasn't a must have upgrade for me. I was just looking for another little project. One thing I liked about my plan is that it is easy to upgrade. I'll have nice relays & wiring in place (SLEE). I'll have a light that I like the look of (HELLA 500FF). If I find that I want more light, my next project could be an HID upgrade ($50 kits) or new lights.

i modded some harbor freight off road lights currently on sale for $26. i bought mine on sale for $20 plus there usual 20% and i bought them in oregon so no tax:cool:

i then cut the backs out, installed 90 lexus ls400 fog yellow light capsules with 3k yellow hids $40. here is the end result for a grand total of about $60 and a hour or two of work. the best part is the lens is glass and the inner housing composite so heat is not an issue. and it comes with the fancy grill over it which saved my ass after i dropped one light off my work bench 3ft face down with no damage.
