Declines. The only reason you had spare gas was your rig wasn't a trail rig anymore with no front locker. Gonna have to look at some changes with that cell or go to a different one. Not happy with the way that one is starving for fuel on declines with that much gas in it. Even after we put gas in it Woody on the last big drop into the valley it still started starving for fuel by the time we got to the bottom. Fuel pump won't last long at that rate.

I reckon you are injected.......I'm thinkin bout fabbing up storage tank on the frame, and installing an in tank pump.....I have had my share of external pump problems........ 8 in 2 yrs since going FI....

If ya' see Shreg give him a Yank slap for me.....:flipoff2:

Sounds like a surge tank is the way to go. I built one that used a GM in-tank using a chunk of 4" pipe. My thinking was that if I did have a pump failure, I would always have a second pump of the same type. When I TBI the pig, I will try using it.

I had an internal pump on the last rig and had my share of problems with that as well. Won't go back to that route. I think maybe I need to change to a fuel cell with out a sump and run the holley pick ups. They have weights and shift around with the fuel. Keeping the pick ups constantly submerged.

I'm thinkin' the heat down here kills the externals, every failure on mine has it's been HOT outside...
The only advantage I can see in living up there though.....:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Butch,
The cold was making my external fail here and there. Not sure if it should be insulated somehow. I am going to replace it just for the hell of it. Guessing it is hurting after this bitter cold trip.
Cold....Hot....just can't win.

Goebs

Mike,
I still think your fuel pump is not getting enough power at full throttle. It's either close to death or there is another short somewhere else. Maybe the cold was making it work too hard and then drawing too much power? Remember I am as dumb as they get mechanically.....
