Hoping someone can help me out with a code 12 error ive got on my 91 ln130 2lte surf. Did the self diagnostic test and got the code 12 suggesting timing control valve on the fuel pump. My diesel pump is only 6 months old. Ive seen many others with a code 12 error experiencing major power problems, not the case with mine however, car drives as normal as it ever has. Plenty of power and seems fine. The check engine light comes on when going down hill or slowing down to a stop or slow corner. The light appears and stays on for a few seconds and drops off. Only thing that i notice is sometimes when the light comes on the idle when i do slow down to a stop is very rough. Idling at 500rpm, as opposed to the typical 700-800rpm. Giving a short rev sometimes clears the rough idle and reverts back to normal. The rough idle has only started happening since i started having the check engine light appear. However sometimes both wont happen at once. Some cases light will appear and it will idle fine. Sometimes light is off and will idle rough. In most cases it will be both the light and the idle at the same time though.
Any ideas?? This has been happening since a few days ago. My fuel pump is 3 weeks old also. And has a water trap fitted on it so it should be pretty clog free.
Any input would be very much appreciated! I don't really want to go back to driving my N14 for too long.. Lol.
